Susanne Schmidt

Susanne undertook undergraduate and graduate studies in History and German studies in Berlin, Cambridge, and Paris, and is now is a PhD candidate in the Cambridge Department of History and Philosophy of Science, where she studies the history of the "midlife crisis." Her wider research interests include the history of social science and social criticism, intellectual history and the uses of ideas, history of gender and feminism, history of the mass media, books and publishing, and the social and cultural history of the life course.
Susanne has been a Fellow of the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) and the Arts and Humanities Research Council and a Kurt Hahn Scholar and Visiting Fellow at the Department of the History of Science, Harvard University (2015–16). She was previously a Junior Research Fellow (Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) at the Department of History at Humboldt University Berlin.
