Hallie Lieberman is a historian of sexuality and writer who is working on her book Buzz: A Stimulating History of Sex Toys, which will be published by Pegasus Books in Fall 2017. She writes for popular and academic audiences, and has been profiled in Fusion, The L Magazine, and The Wisconsin State Journal. Her work on the history of sex toys has been published widely in Bitch magazine, Enterprise and Society, and Sexuality and Culture. Other research interests include the history of food. Her article on the history of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups appeared in Atlas Obscura. While at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, she will also be researching German and American "junk food." She strongly believes that academic research should be shared with the public.
