Staff Research Associate, Department of History, UCLA
Elaine Wise is a Staff Research Associate in the Department of History at UCLA. Having originally studied Philosophy (BA) and English Literature (MA) at Washington State University, she has worked for many years as a Personal Research Assistant for academics in several areas of humanities and social science. While at the MPIWG, she will be collaborating with Norton Wise on a book on the steam-powered gardens of Potsdam and Berlin. With a focus on the history of industrialization, they interrelate the technological and aesthetic aspects of these unusual gardens as their form and their ownership changed over the course of the nineteenth century.
