Dan Tan

Visiting Predoctoral Fellow (Okt 2023-Okt 2024)

Tan Dan is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Qing History, Renmin University of China. She is Visiting Predoctoral Fellow in Department III “Artifacts, Action, Knowledge,” where she is a member of the working group “Fenye in Local Gazeteers.” Her research interests focus on the history of science, intellectual history, and the history of Sino-western cultural communication, a field in which she already has two published articles. Tan Dan’s current research project is on western knowledge of longitude and latitude and the writings of local gazetteers in Qing Dynasty.
