Christina Benninghaus received her PhD at the European University Institute in Florence (1994). She is currently a Research Associate at the Historical Institute of the Justus-Liebig-Universität, Giessen. Prior to this she was an Associated Research Scholar in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge, and Senior Marie Curie M4Human Fellow for the Gerda-Henkel-Stiftung (2012–14). Her research interests include the history of reproduction and sexuality, social, and cultural history (nineteenth and twentieth centuries), the history of youth, and gender history.
