I am finishing a book project (in Chinese) on the historical construction of British SSK (sociology of scientific knowledge), a major school of STS, in its first two decades, from the 1970’s to the 1990’s. Briefly, it is a genealogical history, and a social—historical reconstruction of SSK beginning with its relationship with Thomas Kuhn, and its resources from Ludwig Wittgenstein, Mary Douglas, and of course Steven Shapin & Simon Schaffer.
It concerns the intellectual co-constructions of certain historical processes (after the '60s in Europe and the US), especially the co-construction between SSK and the history of science from the 1970’s to the 1990’s, and its relation to contemporary epistemic changes, especially the receptions and debates of theories related to STS and history of science in East Asia.
