The Representatives for Staff with Disabilities promote inclusion within the institute, represent the interests of staff with disabilities, and provide help and support where necessary. They represent all staff who are registered disabled or have equivalent status (are “gleichgestellt”), to ensure that people with disabilities are not disadvantaged on the basis of their status and that they are able to participate fully in working life.

Job Applications

The Max Planck Society is committed to increasing the number of individuals with disabilities in its workforce. Applications from people with disabilities are strongly encouraged.

If you would like to disclose a disability when applying to the MPIWG, please mention it in your cover letter or CV and check the respective box in the application portal. Please state the degree of disability (GdB) if you have registered disability status in Germany (there is no need to provide a copy of your disability ID card), or provide equivalent information if you are registered disabled in another country.

The Disabilities Officer may be asked to read the applications for positions advertised, and in some cases to attend the interviews. If a person with a disability applies for a vacant position, the representative will automatically take part in the application process.

Parking

Visitors with a blue parking permit can use the accessible parking space next to the Institute.

Building Accessibility

A wheelchair ramp is available to the right side of the MPIWG's main entrance at Boltzmannstraße 22. One elevator is available at the right side of the main entrance, which gives access to all floors of the building. An accessible bathroom can be found on the ground floor (nearest the elevator) and on the first floor (in Department AAK).

The MPIWG's villa at Harnackstraße 5 has limited accessibility due to steps leading to the door with no ramp. There is also no elevator function at the villa building.
