Mikkel Rønnow Mouritzen
Visiting Predoctoral Fellow (2021)
Mikkel Rønnow Mouritzen is a PhD fellow at Roskilde University Department of Social Sciences and Business and the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research. His research concerns talent mobility and talent migration, with a particular focus on Europeans in China. Currently, his work centers its attention on European researchers in China both before and after the emergence of Covid-19. He works with a mixed-method approach to the study of Europe and includes both quantitative and qualitative data in his study of European researchers in China. Mikkel's work spans from a macro perspective examining the changes in the Chinese state's relationship with talents and researchers to a micro perspective focusing on the liminal position of European researchers in China. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, the concept of liminality have become more central to his work as his data suggests that European researchers are forced to relate themselves differently to China.
The primary aim of the stay with the Lise Meitner Research Group is to increase our understanding of China's new role in the global production of science and technology and particularly how that role unfolds concerning a European context.
