Dagmar Schäfer has been interviewed by Tagesspiegel on her research career, winning the Leibniz Prize, and on the history of technology in China. "At the end of the 20th century, people in Europe had a righteous view of what knowledge is and what science is," Schäfer points out—but this needs to change in the longer term to incorporate the history of science and technology on a global scale.
