Jürgen Renn, Lorraine Daston, and Dagmar Schäfer are portrayed in their joint endeavor to widen the scope of the history of science and to include a global perspective. As highlighted in the article, in order not to exclude non-Western forms of epistemology, the history of science needs to enrich its field with the history of knowledge.
