Applications Open for Symposium “History for Physics," Deadline November 1, 2019

Our Research Group "Historical Epistemology of the Final Theory Program" invites scholars to participate in and submit a contributed talk to the two-day symposiumLogos Blum “History for Physics: Quantum Gravity,” to be held on November 28–29, 2019 at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute) in Potsdam.

The "History for Physics" event series, running throughout 2019 and 2020, aims at demonstrating the importance of the history of physics within current research in physics itself.

We welcome contributed talks that are:

  • single history talks on quantum gravity
  • physics/history-tandems on quantum gravity
  • presentations of historically relevant papers in quantum gravity

The symposia will follow a tandem format. If you are interested in participating in tandem but do not have a partner, please contact the organizers who will try to match tandems together. We also highly welcome history talks by non-historians. Please send an abstract of your proposed talk, no longer than half an A4 page, to hfp@mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de
