Introduction to Natural Language Processing in the Digital Humanities

About This Series

Natural Language Processing (NLP) allows computers to extract information from large amounts of text. This powerful tool can be applied to support humanities scholarship, and more particularly historical research. In this Brown Bag Lunch, Pascal will give an introduction to NLP methods and techniques, and ways in which these can support historical scholarship. Pascal will then briefly present a platform he designed and developed which aims to facilitate the application of NLP techniques to mono or multi-lingual corpuses by users of varying levels of technical expertise. This talk is suitable for individuals completely new to digital humanities, but all are welcome.
