Ceremony of the Conferral of an Honorary Doctorate to Prof. Hanoch Gutfreund

Visiting Scholar Hanoch Gutfreund will be awarded an honorary doctorate from the Freie Universität Berlin. MPIWG director Jürgen Renn, co-author of several books with Gutfreund, is intended to deliver a speech and biographical sketch at the ceremony.

Hanoch Gutfreund can lay claim to an extraordinary career as a scientist and scientific administrator. In addition to physics and science administration at the Freie Universität Berlin, he has been very involved in the history of science in recent years and has maintained close contacts with the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science.
