Kevin Donovan is in the programs in Anthropology & History and Science, Technology & Society at the University of Michigan. In addition to his work on historical and contemporary projects of East African regionalism, he is interested in the politics of knowledge within international development aid, especially the growth of experimental methods, and the emergence of new digital infrastructures in sub-Saharan Africa. He has previously published on the use of biometric identification in Kenya and South Africa, the expansion of mobile financial services, and the politics of digital surveillance.
