Evelina Miteva

Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow (Mai 2020-Jul 2020)

Evelina Miteva received her first PhD in Sofia in 2010 and a second one in 2014 in Bari and Cologne. During her doctoral studies, she spent a research year at the Thomas-Institut, University of Cologne, and another at the Catholic University of America, Washington DC. After her second doctorate, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Thomas-Institut. Miteva was Principal Investigator in an international group of scholars working on the project “Human Being As a Cross-point: The Beginnings of the Modern Concept of Man in the Middle Ages,” at the University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania). After her visiting fellowship at the MPIWG Berlin, she will head for the Università del Salento as a Feodor Lynen Research Fellow.

Evelina Miteva works on Albert the Great (1200–1280), along with several related topics, among them Aristotle, the Arabic and Hebrew sources, natural philosophy in the twelfth and thirteenth century, medical debates in the thirteenth century, and the theory of intellect.
