Student Assistant Chinese Publications

Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Department 3 is looking to employ
 

a student assistant for help with Chinese publications
(up to 50 hours per month)
 

Starting date: as soon as possible limited until Sep 30, 2016 with the possibility of extension.
 

Duties:
Assisting with editorial work on scientific texts (especially in English and Chinese), assisting with the
language and copyediting of scientific manuscripts, assisting project members with the organization of
scientific events, research in original classical Chinese texts and helping to maintain databases and
digital repositories.

The salary is paid according to the rates for student employment in the frame of the Max Planck
Society’s program to support junior scientists (10,98 Euro/hour).

Applicants must be in at least their third semester of study at a university in Berlin or Brandenburg.
They should have a good working knowledge of modern information technology and the ability to
work both independently and in a team. Native Chinese speakers with a good command of German
and/or English are encouraged to apply.
