Franziska Marliese Fröhlich

Dr.
Franziska Fröhlich studied China studies and India studies at the University of Würzburg and Peking University. In 2022, she received her PhD from the University of Würzburg with a dissertation on discourses about eco-motivated food consumption in China. From 2013 to 2016, she worked as a lecturer at the University of Würzburg, after which she was a senior advanced scholar at Fudan University's School of Social Development and Public Policy.
At the MPIWG, Franziska is a postdoctoral fellow of the Lise Meitner Research Group "China in the Global System of Science." Her research project looks at representations of popular science in artificial intelligence (AI) research to investigate the values and principles of doing science in China. She is currently revising her dissertation into a book manuscript.
