A climate catastrophe is looming, and it concerns all of us. Following months of protest, the Fridays for Future movement has declared a global climate strike on September 20, 2019. This critical date coincides with the meeting of the climate cabinet in Berlin, and takes place three days before an emergency UN climate action summit in New York.

The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science supports the climate strike on September 20 along with many research institutes in Berlin. Our staff and scholars will join the protest at Brandenburger Tor in support of fair and forceful environmental protection and compliance with the Paris Agreement. Please join us in striking!
