Focus Online have published an article on a new podcast "Hinter den Dingen. 5000 Jahre Wissensgeschichte zum Mitnehmen und Nachhören" (Behind the Things—5000 Years of Knowledge to Take with You and Listen to) launched through the Collaborative Research Center "Episteme in Bewegung. Wissenstransfer von der Alten Welt bis in die Frühe Neuzeit" (Epistemes on the Move—Transfer of Knowledge from the Old World to the Early Modern Age). The center, based at the Freie Universität in Berlin, is a research association funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) that analyzes processes of knowledge transfer in European and non-European cultures in pre-modern times. The Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology are involved in the center, spanning a total of 24 disciplines in humanities, history, the arts, and cultural studies.
