24. Dezember 1938: Weihnachtsspaziergang ins Atomzeitalter

Lise Meitner and her nephew Otto Frisch figured out how to interpret the phenomenon which is known today by the name of nuclear fission, on December 24 in 1938. However, as it turns out, the name “mother of the bomb” referring to the first nuclear bomb constructed in the Manhattan Project, was given to Meitner wrongfully.
