Position

The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) seeks to employ a Student Assistant for Research Group Krause (Experience in the Premodern Sciences of Soul & Body ca. 800–1650) at the earliest possible starting date.

Duties

The Student Assistant will support project members with the organization of scientific events, will help with editorial work on scientific texts (especially in German and English), and assist in maintaining and updating the group’s website, databases, and digital repositories.

Requirements

Applicants must be in at least their third semester of study at a university in Berlin or Brandenburg. They must have command of German and English at an excellent level (C1 or above). The ability to read Chinese, Greek, and/or Latin is considered a strong advantage. Applicants should bring good working knowledge of modern information technology and have the ability to work both independently and in a team.

What We Offer

The Employment Contract will initially be limited until September 30, 2020 with the possibility of extension. Weekly work hours may vary between 10 to 15 hours (negotiable); the salary is paid according to the rates for student employment in the frame of the Max Planck Society’s program to support junior scientists.
