Exploring Images of Climate Change with Digital Methods

DH BBL Poster: Birgit Schneider on Exploring Images of Climate Change With Digital Methods. How can image research be conducted critically using digital methods? My presentation will provide insights into projects that have been developed in recent years on issues relating to images of climate change in the "Analysing Networked Images of Climate Change" project. In this project, we worked in an interdisciplinary team to analyse climate images as they are disseminated on the internet. Based on this, I ask how the field of environmental humanities can be fruitfully combined with digital methods and media perspectives and refer to other current examples. I will also present my research in climate research imagery and its history on the basis of a research image database. The aim of this presentation is to engage in a joint discussion on how digital methods can be used to conduct ecocritical research.
