Commoning Biomedicine—Conversations: NHS Voices of Covid-19

This event was rescheduled from February 08,2023

The Conversations are a series of mini-workshops designed to bring together scholars, archivists, digital humanities specialists and others to discuss new ways of utilizing oral histories of science and medicine.

Professor Stephanie Snow will discuss her work on the NHS at 70 and NHS Voices of Covid-19 oral history projects. Together these initiatives have collected over 2200 interviews, recording diverse life stories of those working in the NHS since its creation as well as experiences of the Covid-19 pandemic. Together these interviews form the “Voices of Our National Health Service” oral history collection, which is the first shared public archive of NHS history and is currently being transferred to the British Library. Prof Snow will discuss the creation of the collection as well as how it will be stored and made accessible at the British Library.
