Student Assistant (Dept. I)

          Department I is looking to employ a Student Assistant for up to 80 hours per month.

 

Requirements:

Applicants must be English native speakers and enrolled at a university in Berlin or Brandenburg. They should also have the ability to work both independently and in a team.

The position, starting as soon as possible, is initially limited until 2017 and can then be extended.

 

Profile:

Candidates should preferably be at the beginning of their studies, interested in the history of science and digital humanities, and willing to work in the frame of a project that might inspire them to pursue their own studies in this direction. Ideally, the candidates will also have knowledge of Latin and at least one other European language.

 

Duties:

Assisting with editorial work on scientific texts in English, assisting with the language and copyediting of scientific manuscripts, curation of databases, assisting project members with the organization of scientific events and helping to maintain databases and digital repositories.

 

The salary is paid according to the rates for student employment in the frame of the Max Planck Society’s program to support junior scientists (10.98 Euro/hour).

The Institute is located in Berlin Dahlem.
