Mistrust towards science is nothing new: the twentieth century alone was full of hostility towards science and scientists, argues Emeritus Scientific Member Hans-Jörg Rheinberger, who took part in a panel discussion on "Science as Fake News" with Antje Boetius for a theme day on mistrust and responsibility in science. The event—an afternoon full of discussions, workshops, and science slams on the topic—took place on Sunday April 7, 2019 as part of a cooperation between Helmholtz and the Berliner Ensemble.
