Leopoldina Calls for Emergency Measures to Protect the Climate

In the 2015 Paris Agreement the world community committed itself to limiting human-made global warming of the Earth to less than 2°C. LeopoldinaThis goal can only be achieved if both national and international agreements are adhered to immediately. In the statement "Klimaziele 2030: Wege zu einer nachhaltigen Reduktion der CO₂-Emissionen" (Climate Goals 2030: Towards a Sustainable Reduction of CO₂ Emissions) the Leopoldina—of which MPIWG director Jürgen Renn is a member—calls for an immediate boost in transformation and outlines socially responsible and innovation-promoting emergency measures for climate protection.
