Research Reels: The Raw Materials of Celluloid Film
In this Research Reel, Visiting Predoctoral Fellow Jonathan Haid presents his recent paper on how "the experience of material scarcity had a significant impact on the knowledge production of educational films in the interwar period." Moreover, it discusses how the material properties of celluloid film facilitated the dissemination of imperialist propaganda.
