Vanessa Osganian
Visiting Predoctoral Fellow (Nov 2018-Dec 2022)
Vanessa Osganian studied history and languages, literatures, and cultures at the Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich. She specialized in the history of science and graduated in January 2018 with a master's degree.
Since February 2018 she has been working as a PhD student and research assistant at the Deutsches Museum in the DFG research group "Cooperation and Competition in the Sciences." The project, which she and Helmuth Trischler are currently working on, deals with the Alliance of Science Organizations in Germany and its influence on the German science and research policy between the 1960s and the 1990s.
For the GMPG program, she focuses on the role of the Max Planck Society for the formation and establishment of the Alliance of Science Organizations in Germany. The aim is to contribute thereby to the reconstruction of the history of the Max Planck Society by shedding light on the role it played in the field of German science policy.
