The MPIWG project “Towards an Inclusive Public Communications Strategy in the History of Science” looks to explore and address challenges in communicating the history of science through an inclusion lens. In collaboration with Institute academics and staff, communications practitioners, and community members, the project aims to: (1) identify imbalances in communicating about researchers, topics, and epistemologies that are often excluded through contemporary science communication; (2) explore and understand the reasons behind these patterns; and (3) develop policies, formats, and mentorship programs that work towards a more inclusive public communications practice at the Institute, as well as provide models for communication in the history of science and related disciplines.
