Emily Brownell

Postdoctoral Fellow (2017)

Emily Brownell received her PhD in History from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Northern Colorado, where she teaches a variety of courses on topics in African history. Emily's work focuses on urban, environmental, and transnational themes. Her previous publications have focused on waste, sanitation, and waste trading while her current project considers the environment and planning of 1970s Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
