Zain El-Roubaei is a graduate student in History and Philosophy of Science (HPS) at the University of Sydney. Prior to this, they completed an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, with an honours thesis in HPS that engaged techno in Detroit and Palestine, for which they were awarded the University Medal. Zain's current research project is concerned with historiographies that enact care and reverence for the dead, particularly for trans / gender non-conforming performers in Islamicate contexts, whose archival presence emerges from silence and fracture.
