Jinsong Guo received his PhD in Chinese history and the history of science from Princeton University in 2019. He now works at Peking University as an Assistant Professor. He has published on a variety of issues in premodern Chinese astronomy and time-reckoning in relation to politics, scholarship, and historiography. He is currently writing a book on the transformation of Chinese astronomy in the Mongol period. During his stay, Jinsong will be researching new visual instruments in Mongol-Yuan dynasty astronomy in the "Heavens in Your Hand" Working Group.
