The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science is looking for a Student Assistant (12 hours/ week) to start as soon as possible, initially limited to March 31, 2023, with the possibility of extension.

Tasks include literature research, support in creating bibliographies, preparing book orders and checking deliveries, preparatory work for cataloging, and taking on scan and copy orders. Applicants should have excellent knowledge of Chinese, very good knowledge of Chinese writing (traditional and simplified characters) and its transliteration systems, especially Pinyin. Good knowledge of German or English, as well as research skills, are required.
