Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Berlin (MPIWG) Department 3 is looking to employ one student assistant (up to 83 hours per month), from September 1, 2022, until March 31, 2023, with the possibility of extension(s). The student assistant will support research tasks in the “Visualizations of the Heavens” Working Group—which focuses on visual representations and material objects in the creation, change, and movement of astral knowledge across space and time—as well as administrative tasks in the Department Office. The Working Group includes international scholars, and the student assistant will mainly assist their research by extending and maintaining a protected image database and by supporting related (geo)visualization projects.
