Anna L. Ahlers and Megan Briers Named among Berlin’s Top 100 Researchers 2025

Research Group Leader Anna L. Ahlers and Predoctoral Scholar Megan Rhian Briers have been recognized by Tagesspiegel among Berlin’s top 100 researchers 2025.

Anna L. Ahlers heads the Lise Meitner Research Group "China in the Global System of Science." Her work covers topics as diverse as authoritarianism and democracy as environmental factors for science and academia, the evolution of science policy in the People’s Republic of China, and science-policy interactions in China’s (local) governance.

Megan Briers is a Predoctoral Scholar in the International Max Planck Research School "Knowledge and Its Resources: Historical Reciprocities." In her dissertation, "Women in Nineteenth-Century British and American Astronomical Fieldwork," she reconstructs the contributions of female researchers investigating astronomical phenomena.
