Reading Group: Translation as Mediation in Science and Culture

In this reading group we approach the topic of translation from many points of view. We choose readings that have texts and methods (scientific, cultural, legal, artistic) as objects of inquiry in the process of translation. No temporal or geographic limits narrow the choice of what to read next. The schedule is usually monthly but is adjusted depending on the needs of the group.

About This Series

The previous reading group on Science in Translation at the MPIWG was launched by Yulia Frumer in the Fall of 2012 and was continued over the years by Donatella Germanese. From the beginning, Donatella has curated the readings' repository that currently comprises ninety items on Nextcloud. 

This is a hybrid event and can be accessed in person and online.
