Lisa Malich

Lisa Malich joined the Research Program in the History of the Max Planck Society (GMPG) in 2018 with the project “History of Clinical Psychology and Addiction Research in the Max Planck Society.” Since 2016, she has been an Assistant Professor (“Juniorprofessur”) for the History of Knowledge of Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of Lübeck.

Lisa studied Psychology with a focus on the History of Psychology and Gender at the Freie Universität Berlin and at the Indiana University in Bloomington (USA). She has a doctoral degree (Diss. Phil.) in History from the Humboldt University in Berlin (dissertation published in 2017). From 2009 to 2012 Lisa had a DFG fellowship at the research training group “Gender as a Category of Knowledge” at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Between 2012 and 2015 Lisa worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for the History of Medicine at the Charité Berlin. She has undertaken research on the history of emotions in pregnancy, on visual cultures of contraception, on the history of trauma and on psychotherapy in the GDR.
