Qiao Yang is a PhD candidate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her dissertation examines the role of astronomers and physicians in the exchange of scientific knowledge in the Mongol Empire (1206-1368). She is a member of the ERC project Mobility, Contact, and Cross Cultural Contacts in Mongol Eurasia, and the Asian Sphere program (the Hebrew University and Haifa University). She is a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship of the Hebrew University (Mandel School for Advanced Studies in the Humanities). Her main areas of interest are: the history of the Mongol Empire, cross-cultural contact between China and the Islamic world, and the history of Chinese and Islamicate sciences.
