Malte Vogl

Dr.

Malte Vogl studied Physics at the TU Berlin and the University of Nairobi, Kenya. In 2013 he obtained his PhD (Dr. rer. nat) with a dissertation on quantum effects in heat transport on atomic scales. Following his PhD, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden. From 2015 he worked as a freelance programmer and developed a prototype for a musical instrument based on RFID technology. In 2016 he joined Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin to work as a research software engineer, where he developed a research platform for interactive and extended publications in collaboration with the Edition Open Access. He also collaborated with researchers in various projects, ranging from the classification of medieval diagrams, creating databases for various text corpora, to developing visualization techniques for geographical and 3D data.
