Ulla Reiss

Predoctoral Research Fellow

Residence: January 1 - June 30, 2012

Profile

Ulla Kypta is a PhD student of medieval history at the University of Frankfurt (Main). Her thesis „Knowing. Learning. Ruling. The Development of a Special Language in 12th Century Pipe Rolls“ aims at showing how organisations like the English exchequer can evolve out of the application of a special language which is constantly repeated and at the same time permanently adapted to changing circumstances.

Her research interests apart from administrative history and the application of historical semantics to medieval texts lie in economic history and the history of the Hanseatic League.
