Barbara Tramelli obtained her MA with distinction in Cultural and Intellectual History 1300-1650 at the Warburg Institute, University of London, with a dissertation entitled Artists’ Educational Attainments in sixteenth-century Italy. Currently a pre-doc fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, she is interested in Milanese artists’ attitude towards the appropriation of theoretical and practical knowledge, focusing in particular on the figure of Giovanni Paolo Lomazzo.
