About the Author
Ludmilla Jordanova has been a professor of early modern history at Durham University, UK, since 2012. She has previously held posts at the University of East Anglia, the University of York, and King's College London, UK. Her research is focused on understanding the function of visual culture and the history of medicine. Jordanova’s special interest is analyzing the contextuality of the ability to see. Since 2011 she has been a trustee of the Science Museum Group, where she is the chair of the Research and Collections Committee, and she is a member of the Science Museum Advisory Board.
