Nikita Braguinski

Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow (Jan 2019-Mar 2019)

Nikita Braguinski defended his PhD dissertation, “RANDOM. Die Archäologie der elektronischen Spielzeugklänge” (advisor: Wolfgang Ernst, second reader: Viktoria Tkaczyk), at the Humboldt University, Berlin, in 2016. He studied musicology, Slavic studies, and German studies at the University of Cologne and worked as a research assistant at the Staatliches Institut für Musikforschung, Berlin. Nikita Braguinski has published on noise and perception, random electronic sound, and other topics. He has taught seminars at the Humboldt University since 2012. In 2014, he participated in the summer school “Sound Signatures: Epistemologies and the Order of Sound” at the MPIWG. In 2016, he researched algorithmic and combinatorial approaches to sound, as a Predoctoral Fellow and later as a Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow, in the Max Planck Research Group “Epistemes of Modern Acoustics.”
