Following the Ming dynasty, the Qing emperors established three Royal Textile factories in Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Nanjing. The management system and modes of operation in the textile factories underwent several changes in the seventeenth to eighteenth centuries. This project examined these changes, analyzing their causes and their impact on technologies and products.
