Studies on the History of Radioactivity and Early Nuclear Physics

Horst Kant

Radioactivity is one of the subjects, which stimulated the development of quantum physics in early 20th century, and in its progress led to nuclear and particle physics as well.

The research is devoted to the investigation of the relationships between persons and institutions, working on this subject in Germany, and their international connections, and on the correlations between experiment and theory. For the next time the work is focussed on the corresponding groups at the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Institutes of Chemistry (at Berlin) and of Physics (both at Heidelberg and Berlin).
