The relation of Momentum Gravitatis and Gradus Velocitatis
Galileo in certain contexts made no clear distinction between the concepts of momentum gravitatis, gradus velocitatis and the related notion of impetus. This tendency is illustrated by the following two passage. In the De motu locali. in 2/02-th-02-schol-dialog1 he writes:

I... let us first of all consider this notable fact, that the momenta or speeds (i momenti o le velocità) of one and the same body vary with the incination of the plane.
